Raymond Rocco Monto, MD, is a Nantucket-based award-winning board-certified orthopedic surgeon & sports medicine specialist, keynote speaker, and author of the best-selling book, THE FOUNTAIN: A Doctor's Prescription to Make 60 the New 30 (with a foreword by Bill Maher of HBO's Real Time). Dr. Monto is an internationally recognized expert in health, aging, and regenerative medicine. He serves as a spokesperson for the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, advises elite athletes, sports teams, celebrities, and organizations worldwide, and is a founding team physician for U.S. Soccer. A former elite soccer player, Dr. Monto earned High Honors in Biology from Haverford College and a Doctor of Medicine degree from New York University. He completed his orthopedic residency at Duke University Medical Center and a sports medicine fellowship at the renowned Steadman-Hawkins Clinic. Dr. Monto is known for translating complex medical concepts into clear, engaging insights. With bachelors degrees in Health Science and Psychology, Betsey is a Certified Surgical Technologist, Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, and Registered Orthopedic Technologist. She has scrubbed in surgical cases throughout the Boston area, bringing firsthand understanding of clinical practice, patient care, and the details that drive optimal outcomes.
